Hello everyone, im enjoying reading all the info everyone is providing. my question this time is, does anyone notice any difference if they run a D23 spark plug rather than a stock D21 spark plug in their john deere g? or even any other tractor. thanks if anyone has input on this.

I think it is funny reading everyones replies because I have had the total opposite luck with champion. I would not use Auto 3116 if they were free, put them in my stock A to plow snow and I could not even finish the first time I plowed. Went to the Ac c86 and they lasted two times, about abn hour each. Went back to the d-23 that I normally use and have not changed them since and I have over 50 hours on these plugs.. Did not change a thing except adding more gas. I have now use them in a stroker A and am still on the same set for the entire pulling season. Just my experience, good luck with finding what works in your tractor.

Toss the Champion plugs and quit buying stock in their company. I asked for other recommendations last winter and it was suggested to try Autolite 3116. Put them in in March, and am still running the same two plugs!. Just my opinion, but I feel Champion is at the bottom of the barrel.

I have switch all most all of my tractors over to the small plugs... I won't use the Champion plugs.. they seem to just be die... for the big plugs I use the 386's and 388's... JDGnut

I quit running Champion plugs when I started pulling my "G". I prefer the AC C87, which is the replacement for the C86. Good luck and good pulling.

Hey Phil, I never good luck with the D21 plugs. I've always used the AC C82 or C86. I run the 82 in the Stroker and the 86 in the stock tractor. They seem to last the longest for me anyway. Hope it helps.

I have had excellent luck with the C86. The only problem is the C86 has been discontinued and replaced with the C87, and the C87 won't work in my tractors...the threads are fine but the space between the threads and the part the socket or wrench grabs to loosen/tighten is about half that of the c86's and the part the socket/wrench grabs goes down into the hole for the spark plug and you can't get it completely tight. If you do get it tight you can't get it loose. I hope all that made sense.
