chad s thank you for answering my post on rear weight placement.my question is on the placement of the weights on the far rear behind the axle.is it better to have the weights outwards tward the wheels or tward the pto left or right not for or aft.did my first pull with my smta 6500# class stock rpms stock horse power two 145#wheel weights on each side 15\5\38 armstrongs on cast wheels ran 10#s pressure in the tires.the tractor has a wide front axle so i need to loose the wheel weights and use my suite case weights to bring the front end up. i was 170#over weight but they let me pull anyway.took 5th place out of 15 in that class it was a county fair and they also let a 544 pull he took 1st not to bad considering the compition and my first pull. thanks paul

for added traction closer to the wheels, for balance, right behind the seat, above the pto, if you build a bracket behind the seat, there is a rule in most places that the weight cannot go past the tire. If you extend the bracket farther back, (away from the seat or platform) it will create stronger leverage to pick up the front end,, with less weight. so in the middle right behind, the seat, and above the pto, for front balance, and weights farther away from the center of the tractor for added traction. Hope this helps, ChadS
