WD45 Set Up

Is there anyone out there who would share a little knowledge on setting up a WD45. I am going to pull this next summer at the county fairs in my area. (Central Indiana) I have a stock 45,with a narrow front. My tires are Monarch 14.9 x 28. I still need to adapt a draw bar. I don't currently own any weights. I want to at least be a little competitive. I have had some questions aanswered on here before, and I sure do appreciate it.I want to wish a Merry Christmas to you all. Thanks for your help in advance.

It appears that most pullers recommend first getting rules for the pulls that you plan to enter so that you know that your efforts are directed in the right direction. then you take the old girl down to the local gravel operation to get her weighed up so that you know what class to shoot for. Next you get into weight loss, how much depending on rules and how serious you are. You want to get rid of anything non-essential and replace heavy essentials with lighter ones wherever possible,limited only by your immagination and desire to be in as light aclass as possible and to be the heaviest entrant in your class. Weights may not be necessary except to move up to the next class,WDs don't usually appear to be light in the front, so you should need front weight only on a real sticky clay track. the tires are the right size to start with, but I believe that the pattern is not as desirable as the firestone F&R.When you go to pull, watch the earlier classes. If you see that they are running out of power, they are selecting too high a gear. if many are spinning out, they are going too low. don't be afraid to now and then think out of the box. Have fun!
