Is it an original wiring harness, or are you doing it from scratch? for push button starters, should either have a solinoid on the starter, or if it does not, use one from a ford. You can wire the push button 2 ways, 1st, the push button works only when the switch is on, or vice versa. First, after you have mounted all the switches, lets start with the toggle switch, run a wire from the lead off the battery, off of the solinoid, to one post of the switch, that will be the main hot wire,, next, the wire that comes from the distributor,, assuming it has points,, the + wire from the coil, will hook up to the other post on the toggle switch, also,, if you have to, install a resistor in this wire incase the coil needs to have a resistor. 6 volts,, Probably dont need one,, so lets continue,, next, the push button starter switch,, now like I said, can be wired 2 ways, you can run a jumper wire, off the same post on the toggle switch, to the distributor, and hook it to the push button, then the push button works only when the switch is on,, I like that for safety,, when the kids sit on the tractor, Sometimes they might push a button, or flip a switch,, ya know,,, OK, next, the other post, on the push button, goes to the "Start" terminal on the solinoid. this will activate the solinoid when the button is pushed. Make sure the solinoid is grounded well, otherwise, it may not work,, I know on ford solinoids, (Please excuse my spellin) they have to be grounded for them to work. Will work for + grounded system, or - grounded systems too. 6, and 12 volts, for 12 volts, install a resistor in the distributor wire to the switch so it dont burn up the coil. This is for a custom wiring harness, I dont have a scematic diagram for a factory wiring harness for a 101,, if that is what you are using, How many wires are coming from the voltage regulator?? 2 or 3?? and how many off the generator itself? Another opition would be to convert it to 12 volts, and run a chevy alternator, it is a one wire alternator,, and simple to adapt to the brackets. Unless originality is at stake here. I dont have a generator diagram in front of me, to tell you how to wire that up,, but it is not difficult,, if I find it, will post it,, unless someone explains it first,, Hope this is what you are looking for,, ChadS
