Loading Tractors On Trailers

I have been watching pullers load there tractors both driving them up the ramps and backing them up, with the throttle half or more, and slipping/jumping the clutch. I was told many years ago that I should put the tractor in its lowest gear and only enough gas to keep from killing the engine and not touch the clutch untill the tractor was on the trailer or truck. Same advice on backing them off. I was told using the clutch as a brake was a good way not to be able to sleep in my own bed that night.
I feel like asking people when I see them making several failed attemps while loading if I could help. I am sure I would be told to mind my own business.
Just a question as to others thoughts and if they notice the same things.

I tell you what gets me is wet ramps.I have been at pulls and it be late and dew on the grass and have to get loaded and get on the road.Mine slid sideways once and just barely made it on the trailer and I was high enough that I couldn't back off.That was a reality check for me.

Not trying to be a know it all but what if you mixed sand in the paint for your ramps??? Would that help???

Different Problem than I was thinking about but a problem just the same. That was one of the reasons I mounted a 9000# winch on the front of my trailer, the other reason was to load dead tractors and machinery. I used it just once at a pull in the rain.

I seen a guy load a JD D on a STEEP gooseneck and only after the rear wheels hit the flat of the trailer did the front wheels make contact with the trailer.Not long after that he lengthened the ramps.He like to have bit the dirt on that short tractor.

sometimes it's bad to idle a tractyor down alot..like a 2cyl deere...they bounce when they hit on a cyl. and make the front light enough.....and u know what happens....up she goes...and over..

Might be but wide open punchin the clutch in and out can do the same thing.
I am sure that you know what I was talking about and I was wondering when that type of loading was seen if any one took notice as well as wanting to speek out but walk away had hoped them the best under your breath.
How ever when I see a John Deere I always turn my head and look the other way and pretend that they aint there. {:^D
