I am not to familiar with modified engines. My question is this. If I where going to bore out and put a stroker crank im my Farmall M and add some other goodies, would I still be able to use it for small jobs, parades, and joy riding?? Would it over heat?? Alot of the pulls I go to I drive the tractor to them. After a while of doing this would the motor loose any power?? What I am trying to ask is. How far could I go before I would have strictly a pulling tractor. Thanks for any help!!

JASON, LET ME KNOW WHAT "YOU" WANT TO DO WITH WITH "YOUR" TRACTOR? SMALL JOBS, PARADES, JOY RIDING, OR PULLING? THE TRICK IS YOU CAN ONLY PICK ONE, BECOUSE I THINK YOUR TRACTOR CAN DO ALL OF THE ABOVE, BUT ONLY ONE WELL. WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR CHOICE, I WILL GIVE YOU MY INPUTS.

Jason if you get very radical building the engine, your billfold will probabley answer your question, the life of a highly modified engine is realive short compared to a work engine. Those machine shop bills are dandies,I change my engine oil after each pull,so give it a try and good luck. Gman

G-man said it well, if you build it right, like any engine it should last, just keep check on on water temp and other important gauges, as parades on pavement may be hard on pulling tires. but I parade my pulling tractors.
