The gas and lp heads are 2 different part numbers so the combustion chambers would be different I have 1 of each but the propane is still on motor so I am not sure how much different they are.

The propane and gas heads have different (assembly) part numbers because of the Stellite exhaust valves in the propane heads. I have seen the interior configuration of both the gas and propane heads and there is no difference (in the castings). The propane engines DID have higher compression ratios, but it was done with piston domes.
