wd allis pistons

i was told by an old tractor puller that he pulled against a wd that had john deere 4.250 4010 pistons in it and beat every one allthe time 20 yr ago iam thinking about this idea . can any one shed any light on this idea before i look into thisfor my wd puller

The sleeve will be too thin to bore too 4.25 and use the 4010 piston. The pin height would also have to be near the correct height for the compression ratio to be in a usable range, and I'm sure you would have to bushing the piston to fit the WD wrist pin. Since you will not be able to use the 4.125 sleeve you might as well go to 4.5 or 4.625 bore. The price is going to be the same. Just my opinion.....
