WE HAVE THE SAME STUPID RULE IN OUR CLUBAND I HAVE NEVER UNDERSTOOD THE LOGIC BEHIND IT . WE CAIN'T EVEN RUN A 264 IN A 450 FARMALL I'M TOLD BUT HAVE NEVER CHALENGED IT. IT JUST MAKES THE PULLERS OF THE M'S BORE THE BLOCK AND PUT IN THE 281 KIT . WHICH IS WHAT MOST ARE RUNNING OR 298 WITH NO SLEVE . MOST OF THE ALLIS AND OLIVER AND FOR THAT MATER THE FORDS A RUNNING A NON OEM ENGINE , I GUESS IT'S NOT WRITTEN ON THE SIDE OF THE BLOCK LIKE THE FARMALL . I STILL SAY THIS A LAME RULE AND SHOULD BE DONE AWAY WITH . IF IT BOLTS TO THE BELL HOUSING AND NO ALTERATIONS ARE REQUIRED ELSE WHERE IT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED LEGAL IN THE STOCK CLASSES. MY 2 CENTS WORTH. DANNY H SR

Most clubs will allow an upgraded engine. Providing it is a direct bolt in with no alterations. Read your rules, see if they say that M can use 450, H-350, JD can use power blocks, AC WC-WD use D-17 and the list can go on and on. Chad

264 block is stamped on the outside of the block. It is easy to tell if the motor has been changed.

Who is going to know its a 264 unless they tore it apart? I don't think it would make much of a differnce if boring it out would be the only change you did.

If you are in a pure-stock class,it would be ok if it can pass the dyno, but most rules do say original engine.

I thought stock meant just that, STOCK!!!!! Our rules say all tractors must be stock, with only minimal overbore (less than 0.125), just like it came from the factory. Factory RPM's, factory carb, factory wheels, No added performance items, and no items removed to gain a weight advantage. If you want to alter the tractor, then there are pulls for modified tractors.

its double edge sword when told put the money, inside the motor not the outside.
