I am interested in building a classic tractor with a v8 any information on what tractor to use what not to use would be helpful. I have seen some h's and m's this way alo some masseys and olivers

You should use an oliver 880 with a big block chevy in it. Make sure you put a cadillac 500 or put a 502 crate motor. the best motor for pulling is a 454 chevy. You don't want to use any ford motor because fords are nothing but headaches. A chrysler is always another good motor put a 426 or 440 hemi. Thats the way to go.

Get a Massey 44,by far the strongest.When that was the way modified tractors were built,you seen most had the Massey rear.We had a 44 with a hemi in front of it,and never broke it.When we overhauled the engine,we would hook it to a 20 ft. disc and use the 4020 for the hydralics,and work ground to break in the engine.It was kinda loud with the zoomie headers,but got noticed by the nieghbors.
