Decided to go 6.5 on stroke. I know clearance is the next issue and was wondering how it would fit in with the block and cam. I know I'll probably have to notch the cam but how much? Also, do you know of any sources for ten thousandths undersize main bearings? Thanks.

No disrespect to anyone else on here, but listen to Mel and use any advice he gives you, he helped me build a big cube DC and it runs pretty good

Are DC was running good, until the block around the rear main and the back of the motor cracked, have to set up a new block again.

My first engine was a 6.5 stroker, pretty easy but there are a couple things you MUST know, the oil hole in the crank is very close to the surface and if you grind to the original width you will grind into the drilling on the underside of the throw. Must narrow rod on the oil hole side about .300 should be ok, drop the rod bolt 3/8 on the cam side and a slight knotch on the cam and it rolls right through. I melted the babbit out of the stock rods and had them machined to MT JD rod shells. that and a 4 5/8 bore makes a nice combo. Will help you get a parts list together if you like. mEl
