I am not to crazy about that new slab. Too many slick spots. There were a lot of tractors that took off with the weight and then hit a slick spot and spun out. I also don't understand why they pulled on only 12 feet of slab when it is over 24 feet wide. On top of not using more of the slab, I can't understand letting people that close when most of the tractors were moving that way with the poor traction. I personally don't have a problem with pulling off both ends of the boat. It sure beats starting at 11 am and not finishing until 9 pm for only 65 tractors. I am hoping that the cement will get better in the future. It is not enough to keep me from coming back though either.

Almost forgot to ask what you thought? The people that I talked to were not to crazy about the lenght of the pull. Wheather permitting, we are having a cement pull in Belding on Sunday May 2 at 1 PM. Are you coming down? We will be pulling off both ends of the boat. It is the drivers option on which direction they want to pull. Can even split it up. 1st attempt on one end and 2nd on the other.

On the class jumping, we are going to try it. One thing to remember though, depending on the weather and or number of tractors, the jumping of classes may not be allowed to try and keep the pull to around 3 hours give or take. The money thing...we had a business man who was going to donate some more towards the purse, but he sold the business and the new owner won't put any money towards it. We will probably ask at the drivers meeting like they did at Shepherd about how many places to pay. Last year, EVERY penny that was taken in with the hat passing and the enty fee was paid out. NOTHING was kept. When you pay everyone back their entry fee, not much is left to pay the winners. We are working towrds sponsors for some prize money, but none at the moment. Hope to see you there.

Is belding being put on by the same people as last year? I went to one last year and really liked it. I also need a reminder on rules for belding Like hitch.

Yes, the pull is run by the same people as last year. As far as rules, pretty basic. Hitch height max. of 20", minimum of 24" from center of drawbar. Wheelie bars are mandatory. They must stick out past the radius of the rear tires by a minimum of 4" with a minimum of 4" square pad (so as to not gouge the concrete) and must be able to support the weight of the tractor.(this will be checked on site w/ a forklift.) Any other quetions, email me by clicking on my name.
