JDGnut- how did you pull this weekend and where did you go?

Anybody go to Stephenville? How was the new sled that the have?

Didnt get to make it to stephenville due to the nice weather. Was in the field most of the weekend so the tractor just sat in the barn. Dad is planning to be in Cisco but I have honeydo's so I am not going to get any therapy till Burton. Hopefully they will be pulling on saturday and sunday so I can make up for missing these latest pulls. good luck, Red

Paul and I took the G's to Henderson.. GPower and Scott (Farmall M) where busy.. It was a Good pull.. They are divided into 3 classes.. Stock, Modified and Open... Stock is like our Div I, Modified is like our Div III, but you must pull in 1st or 2nd gear.. (but you could run 18.4's) Modified.. Any Gear.. Run what U Brung.. There were a handful of TATPA Div II tractors there... Unfortantly I was classes with the Div II tractors.. and the Bigger tires on my G put about 30-40 ft on the Second place tractor in the 5600lbs Mod class.. and First in the 6600lb Mod and 7600 Open And I think Paul took first in the 6600 Open and 7600 Mod (Paul and I were the only ones pulling in the Open class.) We did get accused of pulling in wrong gear in the Mod class.. but after I choked it out in 3rd gear in the 6600 Open.. I think they got the point..but Pauls tractor hung in there and spun out.. (Good thin no big tractors showed up... lol..) We had a good time... Great people... and Good food.. (They stopped at 6pm to feed all the pullers, and showers..) The sled is like the TATPA, cable drive with training wheels, but it has a floating pan... Scales are like TATPA's...

The Stephenville sled is an old Outlaw sled... Chain drive, floating pan... It will be good to pull that sled for a changed.. I hope that it gets out some.. Not sure one the scales.. but I sure it is a good set... I didn't really hear how the pull went... Bob Harlow had another new G there.. but that was about all I heard....

Don't worry Red. If you have the $$$ you can get all the therapy you need. Friday, April 30, $5 hook fee practice pull starts at 6pm. Saturday May 1st, 1pm, this is the main pull. We run till we are finished. $15 hook fee. Sunday, I think it starts at either 11 or 11:30. I will post the time. $15 hook fee I believe. Royce, me and the gang got the tranny back in the sled. Pulled it down the track twice with my SM and it walked and talked. Its gonna be one heck of a pull. That hillside is gonna be packed on Saturday w/ Cory Morrow playing that night.

Whats the deal with the high price on sunday like saturday. We always have to pay 15 bucks even with TATPA which I think is to high to begin with but hey I want to pull even with the entry fees. I just wish there would be a little payback instead of a little plastic trophy. But I do realize that Royce rebuilding the sled was not cheap and that the new scale cost money. Just my opinion. Where is the weight break going to be from the little sled to the big sled and is the modified class going to have any restrictions or is it pretty much run what you brung? See you on saturday.

In answer to the pull on Sunday, I have none. I thought the old $10 hook fee was good since A&M takes the money I don't spend on tractors. But, $15 is what the club voted on. As for a payback, I wouldn't hold my breath, though I think it would sure boost the amount of pullers. From the little sled to the big sled is either 5000 lbs or 5500 lbs. Should be same as before. The modified class is gonna be a "run what you brung, and hope you brung enough!!!!" Safety is the main issue. So long as safety is maintained, there won't be too much of a problem I don't believe.
