Hello, I am building a 66 r/c for my 10 year old son to pull. Anyone know where and who makes a good camshaft? Gingerich maybe? Thanks, David

I think it's good to start kids young. He is not too young as long as he can handle the tractor, just be careful and teach him to be careful. When I was 10 yrs. old I was raking hay, disking, spreading manure and whatever my Dad told me to do. If I had been lucky enough to tractor pull at 10 I would have 50 yrs. of pulling under my belt. Age has nothing to do with it. I've seen plenty of 25 year old,s that are down right funny to watch.

I would not put a 10 year old in a pull, most insurance companies would not allow someone that young to operate a tractor, usually have to be 12 or 14. If he is allowed to pull I would have him start out in div 1 one or two years to get used to pulling.

I realize it is dangerous, but I think it is safer than him being on a motorcycle,4 wheeler, or a go cart. I have a kill switch in my hand at all times that I walk along side of the tractor that I can cut off the engine at any time. He never gets out of first gear and never drives without my kill switch attached. The wheelie bars are about 4 inches off the ground and I shut it down usually before it touches the wheelie bars. I was just looking for a few parts for when he gets older because I am on a budget and can't buy everything at once. He is still practicing.

good domed pistons would be good. I have a used set of M&W high power pistons that are 3.5in. they would be a good economical choice.
if your interested let me know.

they are used and would need new rings, but the sleeves are good and pistons are real good, about 25$ a hole, I live in western pa. and shipping is not a problem either, just like to help someone with a 66 with these hard to find pistons. thanks..doug.
