I just put the springs from a recurve kit in my smta it is a day and night difference . what would be a good spring to use for the governor?

I bought mine at an autoparts store . I dont know if an oliver has the same distributor . I got one for a 1980 chevy and put the lightest springs in it she really has snap now the kit only cost under six bucks not bad . it takes about 10 minutes to put in . if yours is a delco it should work too .

Sorry for this Chad,but take the spring out of your governor to the hardware store and find one that is a wrap or two shorter.Make sure the wire diameter is the same,and the diameter of the coils are the same.When you find the one you want be sure and buy extra's.

I agree with ya! A bit heavier wire size for the spring than the OEM. try to keep it the same length as the OEM, just a bit heavier wire. Chad
