Yep, the rumor is true. The scale is in from Nebraska. I have been taking care of sponsorship for the pull in Burton and helping get other areas squared away. Personally, I'd like to see as many TATPA members, Sandyland members and all other pulling groups in attendance. It is sure to be a good show and pull. Entertainment on Saturday night, May 1st is Cory Morrow. I am still doing alterations to my SM Farmall. No paint, but just getting kinks out. She won't be at the top of her game, but she is showing me something new everytime I run her down the track. If you are a puller/exhibitor, you will get 2 passes for your entry. $15 hook fee. 20" max hitch height, locked in all directions. Don't worry about tire size. As in the past, severly modified tractors will be put in an open classes. IE: over 20% rpm and running like a pro-stock down the track. We just want to keep this pull safe and put on an awesome show and show all those city slickers what some old farm boys and rednecks can do!!!! LOL.

I'm guess that pull is going to be that Saturday.. May 1st??? Down in the sandy bottom behind engine or Mill?? (Can't remember exactly what was in that metal building..) Not sure we will make your pull.. I'll be out of town for work... but I know some people are headed that direction for your event.
Are there any other events scheduled for that sled and scales??? Thanks
JDGnut

I am unsure of the schedule for that sled and scale. I know it saw many many miles back in the day and it might again. Lots of talk but I don't know what exactly will happen. Personally, I think it is the most honest sled I have hooked to. There is no battery, jack with wheels adjusting the front weight pan, or electric brakes on it. Its a chevy tranny pulling the weight box up to the sled pan that floats. It is hard coming out of the hole and you know you have something behind you. There is no variation as to what happens when you are hooked, it will stop you.

Only time you hear complaining about the sled, and the way it is operated, is when people loose. Same way with the track, only hear crying when they dont win. All I can say is if you don't like the way a track is, or the sled, quit pulling and quit complaining. Now I am not directing this at you, but I had to put up with a lot of the same BS whining two weeks ago, and I just dont care anymore. You try to do something fun and bring people together and all they can do is be critical and complain. The point is, be better than that, beat them at their own game and thats when it gets fun. My 2 cents.

Yes, the pull will be May 1 at 1 PM till ??? The two tracks are located just down the hill from the cotton gin, a engineering landmark recognized by the Smithsonian Institute. The track is clay based since the pull in Oct. We had red clay hauled in and it sure hooked good in Oct. As for other events, the Cotton Gin Festival will also be going on. There is a huge parade at 11 AM Saturday. Other entertainment will be throughout the afternoon. Arts and crafts for the wives/girlfriends. Plenty of vendors with food. Saturday night's entertainment is Cory Morrow. Its a fun weekend and sure worth taking off from work for.

"The Farmall" is coming to Burton. Burton has a great area to pull. Glad to hear about some clay on the tracks. that will help alot. Low chain on the little sled????? I think that if there was nothing set up at the end of the track and spectators and vendores were not in line of the track at the end ( safety issue) then maybe the Big Red Machine might come out of the wood work in the next year or so but it needs alot of room to put that sled back in its place like it did in the old days.

JDGnut- I will be at Stephenville and Burton. Dad will be at cisco if everyting goes right.

Red.. I'll be at Henderson or Stephenville... (probably Herderson..) and I'll be at Cisco...

Yes, We need more room along the track and ends at all the pulls.. People just getting too close to the track.. There have been a few close calls.. And not ways with the pulling tractors... Can't wait to see the Big Red Machine.... JDGnut
