I see the oliver pullers want new rpm rules for Div. 5. If the 460 560 have to go back to 30% over there actual rpm will the 88,s have to run off of there actual rpm or the 880 rpm. Both tractors will lose rpm. 460 loses 854 and the 88 loses 260.

The rule should read 30%RPM of the tractor that is pulling;;;M-1600x30%=2080rpm;;;;460-1800x30%=2340rpm;;;;Oliver 880-1750x30%=2275rpm,,,,,NOW the way it is in Div-5, the RPM is set at what ever RPM that Bear wants, depending on the tractor that Bear is running!.
And then you ask," Why does Div-5 have so FEW tractors in it?".

This sound like the person who sent the letter to the hook magazine. Must be getting beat pretty bad to get it on the agenda at the April meeting. There are other tractors in other div. that are out rpm's but those people just find more power or just quit going to the pulls. Like some people say go big or go home! Or maybe just drop out of the div 5 and let the people who want to run those tractors be in a div 5 with just the 460-560.

Hey if we are discussing rules on Oliver lets discuss this no 1600 heads, no 99 heads, no 7 main blocks, no 99 manifolds is this really fair? I think we being cheated here. I also think no MM 800 heads below division 5 is crap. Its to bad NATPA has to lose so many pullers due to rules like these. Now, if we could only get more USAP pulls close to my area!

I am not a div.V puller, but I am a member, so as an observer I would like to say this, The Oliver that is doing all the crying now really didn't give a hoot about R.P.M. as long as he was the only fire breathing monster pulling 3500 lbs.with an 88. This guy has dominated this class for years until the last season when he got IH competition, I am sure if he gets a chance he will drop to 3250 to avoid serious competitors''' If you want to make this class right give everyone 3000r.p.m. across the board and get those 460,560,88 and like size tractors back in the 4500 pound class where they belong! just my fifty bucks and 2 cents worth.

Good point Green Weenie the rpm issue needs to be fixed. Div 5. has changed alot in the last five years i remember the pull in Sterling Col. in 1998 had 11 tractors in 5500 lb. Div 5. This year there was three. Some weight classes don,t even have one tractor in div. 5 any more. Div. 5 will be dead in two more years if things don,t change.

Get those 88's and 460's back up to the heavier classes like in the other divisions so that us guys with the AC's and H's can build a division 5 tractor and come play.
