ALL OF THEM! From what I have found out about these tractor distributors, is that they built them very heavy. The springs that are in them, will not do any good in a puller because they are way too strong to keep up with the speed of a higher compression engine, or a sudden change in rpm. With a pulling tractor, you need every advantage in technology to make them run correctly, just like drag racing, we all know that for high performance, stock parts just don't deliver the quality performance as to say a modified component. Most I have worked with, (JD) they develop a "POP" or sputters under accelleration, this is caused by possibly 3 reasons, the igntion timing is not working fast enough to fire the cyl on time, carbs are not jetted right, or the plugs. By changing all of the old stock parts out, like advance springs, stiffer governor lever springs (JD) carb mods, this is the only way you will get the most out of the engine you have. I guarentee, (LOL) that if you have done nothing with the ignition, carb, you have power hiding. Now mostly, it is not power you are looking for with the advance springs, you are looking for a change in the engines running characteristics. this will work wonders for throttle response, and have more accurate timing coming from the distributor. You know, we got into the argument last week about where to find power, some say bore em, stroke em. I say, tune em. all that big stroke and bore don't do you a dimes worth of good if you don't build parts to match the engines characteristics. Each engine is different, they have different specs for each individual setup. So, yes, the distributor springs will work in all the old distributors, and, the performance will be noticable. Hope this helps a bit! APULLER,, How is everything up in your area? Been raining solidly for the last few days here LOL ChadS
