I found some video footage of MR MECKS G. Im pretty sure he is in the 6500#class,and he is running 3rd gear on 15.5 38 rubber at about half throttle. When I first started to build my first G Murfeld told me about Mecks tractor 9.25 x6.75. He told me about the sleeve extensions used in order to keep the rings inside the cylinder walls. I tried to build mine as close to his as possible ( this was the rusty G). Ive built several tractors bigger than my first but NEVER have I had one run like my first. Im not sure if he is still running that same set-up,this was 6 or 7 years ago.

You built a G like Mecks? I admit, it is a great tractor, I thinking it is the same, I know he broke the tranny in it a few years back pulling 7500 speed limit, too much power at the end of the pull. He goosed the hammer and she popped the gears!! The tape I have of him is atleast 6 years old, now it was a loose track, and that G was talking!! but did not kill it!! For all who know Meck his nick name is 4th gear Darrel. I know the story of the nick name,, LOL He has a great G there is nothing any one can take away from that!! When you are standing 25 ft away, and he pulls, and you can feel the JD sound in your chest, from 25 ft away, It is something to remember, Chad

I talk to Darrel about a month ago and he said he would be pulling all the time this year.

Whats so funny is my other tractors have twice the amount of money but not that much more HP. That old G of mine was a good runner . Im kicking myself in the butt everyday because I sold it . My wife even bi@#hes about it. WHODA THUNK IT. I heard it came apart not to long ago Im not sure if the new owner put it back together or not. It was only 663ci but it sure would blow the hair off your nuts. It was just the right combo I guess. Probably the same thing MR MECK has discovered.

Hey Tyler, Reason your old G (the rusty one) ran so good was those 6.75 JD D piston. And it isn't so rust anymore painted it soon as we got it. And it is still tearing up tracks in PA, but with smaller bore. It was at the Akron pull.
