I am going to pull our SM this year. It has a M&W governor on it now. I have been reading different posts on this board and haven't heard to many good things about them. I have a governor off of an M and was wondering if it would work on the SM. If I decide to sell the M&W governor what is it worth?

the 2 weight governor is the best for pulling, The M&W has a 4 weight, and is slow and slow in response. Sure, you could modify it to work, but why ruin a M&W governor. The M governor will bolt right on, just get you a good governor spring, with a 2 weight and you will be fine. Just my 2 cents, ChadS

You have the right governer on the sm now. The four weight system in the m&w gov is what you want. But everyone has there own opinion just mine.
