toot, thanks for your response a couple of days ago. How big to bore to get a 6 1/8"X 9 motor? How much would it need to be stroked? Im only planning on doing a little tuggin with this tractor, but would still like to hear the ole girl thump with some power. where do I go to get parts besides the web-site? Can you get forged aluminum pistons? or stainless valves, and how big of a valve up-grade? any info would be appreciated. thanks.

you will have to buy a $800 powerblock and have it bored to a custom 6.125" piston and get it stroked out to 9" (stock is 6.75), this runs usually $1000. This usually will yeild 70hp itself, then add a cam, good head, and big valves, and you can get 75-85hp. if your not gonna be doing much for serious pulling, I would sugest building it to say....7.25"stroke and .125 over bore and it will yeild about 55hp, enough for the fast low up to about the 7000lb weight class on decent tracks, and 6500 on tough ones....

if you are going to get .125 over m&w pistons, call someplace like polks, there the cheapest I have found. and if you are gonna get it stroked to 7.25 or 7.375, jsut have a local machine shop or you can be a big spender and have merfields or some good name and know that its good work. someone on here could shed some more light on this then me for I have only had 1 crank stroked.....
