Here is a picture of the Wampus Cat 1066 IH pro stock puller owned by Rick Behrendt from Ravenna,NE.This tractor is well known in the Midwest and has pulled with the Outlaws for years and has been a former points champ.I took this picture in 2003 at Mound City,KS.

In the early-late 70's this sheet metal with the Wampuscat name was on a well known 1066 IH SS tractor pulled by Jim Shafer from Verdon,NE.He sold it and 3688 sheet metal was put on it.Does anyone have a picture of Jim pulling the Wampuscat 1066 in the 1970's?Before this he had an 856 IH puller also called the Wampuscat.

Finally, a tractor I'VE actually seen pull, lol. I think I've seen that tractor at a couple of different pulls, and I'm pretty sure he was here when the Outlaws were here in York last summer. I've heard they're coming again this year, so I'm looking forward to that.

G-Man, The Wampuscat makes nearly every hook with the Outlaws and thats a bunch of them.Steve Miller whom lives 50 miles NW of me at Mapleton,KS drives it alot when Rick is busy farming, etc. They say Rick is all JD on the farm??

Here are the results from York,NE last summer.I'm ready for some warmer weather so tractor pulling season can begin.

We got a heck of a kick out of the name "Warranty Denied", as I went with several other techs from here at the dealership, and accompanying story about how the owner/driver worked for Deere in the warranty claim department.

Mike, Is there any way you can put a picture of Jims old Wampuscat 1066 on here or email it to me?I also dont have a picture of L.D. Nations Big Foot 1066 or Don Wiss's Yellow Runner G-1000 MM.Theres tons of 1970's pullers that I'm hunting pictures for. Thanks for any help.

If I had the time and know how I'd start a website featuring pictures of the pullers from the 60's and 70's.These were the pioneers of pulling and shouldnt be forgotten.I'd give anything for a picture of Dickie Sullivan's (Naylor,MO) old 1206 IH puller called the "Duster" that he pulled from 1970-74.He never pulled at Bethany,MO but I do remember it being at the indoor pull at KC in 1974.His 1066 came out that summer.

The Puller showed a picture of the duster in an article on Dickie; don't recall the year, might contact Jim Walbolt (NTPA photo guy) about a photo. In reference to above post, was the "Beautiful Noise" mod the one ran out of Colorado in the early 80's??? Thanks Much.

Art, I remember the Puller article on Dickie.Guess I'll have to dig out my old Pullers and find it.Dickies Duster 1206 had some chrome on it and was a sharp looker. In the early 70's he used to come over to SW Missouri and pull some with us.

I got to see Carl Schneller from Holyoke,CO pull the Beautiful Noise twin engine modified several times in the 80's.Dont know what ever happened to that hard running tractor.

The Beautiful Noise modified tractor currently pulling now is Don Scholting out of Springfield,NE.Its the old twin Hemi modified that Barney Klaus from Belton,MO once pulled.Barney pulled it some on the NTPA circuit in the 80's with 3 Hemis and did pretty good.

I grew up in Belton and remember seeing the Klaus's pull from time to time. I think they quite in the late 80's. Have you seen them around at all?

Pete.
