the roosamaster is a good pump but it won't take rpms or put out the fuel to match a P series inline.the P is consistant with RPM range to near 7000 and are not near as fussy as a rosy.superfarm is the only class that really runs them in the ntpa anymore, but they are a good pump and dollar for dollar a better deal than the prostock and superstock pumps.if you want one for a red tractor you have to find one off a ih bulldozer of the 70s for deere i think they were on the 8650s and construction equipment.a deere pump will work on the ih but the lines will be mixed because the firing order is different.

The Roosa will only safely get around 300 to 350 cc's of fuel, I've heard of some being higher, but have not actually seen them. The P pump can be worked to go over 1000 cc's of fuel, plus, they will handle the high rpms, 5000 to 7000, the Roosa will start twisting shafts and seizing heads around 4000 usually. The roosa is good for farm and hot stock, if you want to go superstock, superfarm, etc. get an inline pump.

The 450 will get you in the neighbor hood of 300cc of fuel delivery. The "P" with the right mods will take you over 500 cc and more. Its all how much you want and need.

If it's the same "P" pump I've been around, it refers to a Bosch P7100 inline pump. They're usually found on higher horsepower tractors and engines, and have big pumping elements and a lot of fuel delivery capacity. They can be modified to inject a BUNCH of fuel.

Hihp pullers tell me the p-pump is more reliable than either an a in-line or the hopped up roosamaster or IH pumps; little ones can be built to 500cc's, but only last one season.

I've been around a lot of "P"s on stock engines, and they seem to be a heck of a pump all the way around. It's hard to outdo Bosch in the fuel injection game. They've been at it a LONG time.

Will the P pump fit on the late model 404's of the John Deere 4520/4620?

No, a P pump will not fit the original motor, you have to put in the newer motor with the front driven pumps.
