I have a Super M with 100hp. I currently have goodyear 16.9x38 cut tires on 16" rims. I am not happy with them. Does anybody have any advice on a better 16.9 tire, I really don't want to go to 18.4.

Thanks,

WFSMP

You will likely get as many opinions on this as if you asked the question "what's your favorite color?". In my area of the midwest Firestone tires are probably used by 80% of the pullers, BF Goodrich by another 15% and the rest of the brands scattered out among the rest. The Goodyear tires have their proponents but usually are a disappointment on the track due to their crooked bar angle. Every so often a tire like a Goodyear will really work and then becomes the next "super pulling accessory" but if you look around at what most folks are using the Firestone and Goodrich will catch the majority of them. Armstrongs have their proponents as well and will work in some cases, and are lighter. But they are made out of softer materials and will thus have more trouble with bar flex than other brands, plus will often have carcass problems faster than other tires will. Probably opening a can of worms here, but this is what I recommend to my customers. Mike
