You guys who know correct me if i'm wrong, but the secret to getting a motor to hold together at HIGHER than rated RPM is balancing. You can't have the thing shaking itself apart.
As for bore & stroke, we have a few 407 cu in. M's around here. ?? x 7 1/2. I've heard of 4 1/2" bore. Mine's 4.3125 (4 5/16), stock stroke though. Heard of guys offsetting the bores to make room also. Never heard of any more stoke than 7 1/2 though.

I am running 7.75 stroke in mine. Wont run over 2200 rpm's though.

Back in the late 1960's a puller by the name of Gene Biddle from Owensboro,KY pulled a 5000 lb M Farmall called Super Chicken. It had headers,4 bbl carb, flat turned some rpms, and sounded sweet.I saw it pull at the 1969 M&W pull.I have no idea on the bore and stroke.

maybe go 5 1/16 bore x 8.5 stroke. That should be a good high RPM turning engine! Use ethanol mix (like CHADS) and get his special governor spring! You're set then! Just my .02 cents

Hey Francis, your idea sounds too ambitious for a M. Doubt that combo would stay together at high rpm.
With respect,

Your wanting your cake and eat it too! Long stroke and high RPM's are hard to come by. What RPM'S are you talking? How many cubes? What class are you wanting to pull?
