I think it was you who I talked to about the posi. I have a super 88 I think but every mechanical piece on it is an 880(motor, bell housing, rearend) anyhow I also have a regular 88. My dad wanted me to fing out if the parts they need for the posi would we be able to take out of the regular 88 and then put them in the Super/880? I dont think so because the one has disc brakes and the other has band brakes and the covers and housing are different.

There is some difference between the two, The brake pinion shafts in the super/880 have thrust washers and a small bearing on the main differential shaft under the brake pinion. 88 just have shims behind the pinion shafts. You may be able to use everything from the 88 to the super, as far as converting it from disk, to band brakes,, but that is an awful lot of time and effort. We are now able to built these for the 66,77,88, with band brakes, and all of the super series, and the 660,770,and 880 with disk brakes. We still need your brake pinion shafts, the differential shaft, and the left or right side brake assembly. with the cover. My email is [email protected], or call 574-893-7437, Earl, or Chad. Hope this helps,, We can do both style brakes now.. ChadS
