I think I will need to put around 150 to 200 pounds on the front of my 1950 JD B, but in the club I will be pulling with, you cannot have anything past the front of your tires, I have never pulled before, so if someone could tell me how to build a bracket or how would be the best way to add weight to the front of my tractor with these rules, I would really appreciate it..Thanks

Curtis, depending on your weight class, you may not need weight. My 1951 B weighs 4300 w/o driver, gets pretty close to the 4500 class with a full tank & me aboard.

I weighed my tractor, it weighed 3700 pounds by itself, so it would be around 3950 with me on it, I will be in the 4600 pound class, so I will have around 600 pounds to put on it.

You probably have the pressed steel wheels; a set of cast iron wheels adds about 500 pounds.

one way to put some weight on the front is to put fluid in front tires. It won,t be much but if you have good tubes you can put calcium chloride in them. It is lot heavier than other mixes but I'm not sure on pounds per gallon. Another way is to find a set of factory weighted front hubs for your B. Them have a very thick flange behind wheel where it bolts on instead of thin one.
