Hello again. I have a nice old GBD that could use a boost. The compression is weak so it takes a minute to warm up and run smooth. If I switched to bigger 4-5/8" blocks (like G1000) when I rebuilt it, would the stock fuel pump and injectors be sufficient to run the slightly larger motor (504 vs. 426) to it's potential? Thanks for any info you have.

Ethan Berry

p.s. I have a UBD with 5-star pump and injectors and G900 blocks (about 300 cubes vs. old 283). Starts a little funny and runs decent, but timing and injectors may be off. I bought it that way, but have not worked on it yet.

Not the GBDiesel. 4.25x5 six cylinder diesel engine. Gasers were 4.625x6 four cylinder.

I could go pretty far with a GBD, but would like to keep it fairly original looking. I know some have been converted and I see some healthy GVI machines. Just not so knowledgeable on diesel stuff. Massey eh? Sweet!

Ethan,

If you ever decide to sell the GBD let me know. I would really like to add one to my collection of stuff.

Thanks

Joe

Everyone wants that thing. Including my Dad. Hard to find one that is decent shape and runs good. My last big addition to my collection. I'll try to get a picture out there of it.
