I'm starting a new project, moving from an M to an H. Anyone out there that might have some success stories relating to a Farmall H Div III puller would be much appreciated. Really wanting to get an idea of stroke/bore and parts combinations that have been proven to work so I don't have to learn all the lessons over again. Might be willing to purchase a complete engine if someone has one available. Any help that can be provided will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have built several 'H' motors. A very popular one is to use a 300-350 block. Pull out sleeves and bore is 3.750. SBC pistons for 305 + .020 are 3.756. Or you can go bigger if you like.
Strokes i have used range from 5.375 to 5.750 with stock rod. Rod needs to be narrowed and machined on big end & ctr. sunk allen bolts in place of stock. Cam will need flats machined on them to clear rod. The H's if dynoed range from 80 to 110 HP & 540 RPM'S. At 110 HP the pto does'nt like to dissengage any more, so unless you don't care about your pto, don't dyno above 100 hp. Hope this helps.

I am also gathering parts to build a Farmall H. I have a 350 International block. Where can I get a crank and pistons to go with it at the 3.75 bore and 5.75 stroke. Additional information and a method to contact personally will be appreciated.

Gary,

Thanks so much for your input. Your name came to me highly recommended for H pulling motor info so I'm glad to hear from you before I had to try and find you. I would like to talk more with you as this project develops. Thanks again for all your help. I sincerely appreciate it.

yes sir, I did have a Black M for years that found its way to Mississippi last year. It was for sale in the Hook for a couple months around this time last year. In the mean time, I've built a couple tractors for others but that prevented me from pulling last summer so I'm not back into it full force trying to get this H ready.

I have had some very good luck over the years with Farmall H pullers. Been building them for years. My recommondation is to call Gary Baker from MI,, or Lemmons. Both are very good builders. I built my own engines, and have a great idea of what parts to use for them. My recomodation for a good strong div 3,, is a 270ci, 3.852 X 5-3/4 stroke. Makes great power. And this block uses STOCK rods. And all IH parts to build it. Send me an email if you like, I would be happy to try and help you,, You don't have to buy anything to find out any info!! ChadS
