I have an 88 oliver and was wondering what I could do to help out the rearend. What is involved in neadle bearing the rearend? Do all olivers have two spider gears or did some come with more? Thanks in advance.

You should be able to run a stock bearing in that 88. If you have problems with over spinning one wheel and getting the spiders hot,, you need to find some sort of limited slip device to even out the power distribution to the rear wheels. We have posi/ limited slip kits for 88's. Don't care if you buy one,, But have installed them on lots of V8 tractors with the problem of scorching bearings and "welding" spiders after a hard one wheel spin out. Once they got both wheels working together,, all of the rear end problems and breakage had disapeared. They have also reported a better launch off the line. they can come off the line harder and control it, and the tractor does not hop from one side to the other during a pull. Our kits do not put stress on the spiders or carrier to create a stress point.. I can email you a picture of what it looks like,, Have seen many tore up differentials, and bearings in "faster tractors" Just my 2 cents worth.. Hope this helps,, ChadS
