Wonder if anyone knows a good carb shop that can help me out. I have a large aluminum carb, only numbers and name is stamped inside bowl area, built by Alcoa, casting # 12r500fp, the intake is 3 inches diameter, it is a two barrel updraft, each throat is 1.5 inches diameter, would like to use this carb, need someone who knows what it is first, thanks for any help!

It is probably a carb like was used on th Heisler 2bbl. set ups. Is it a progessive 2bbl, or do both butterflies open at the same time, or does each butterfly open independently(sp)?

It is not progressive, both butterflies are on the same shaft, open together, Idle adjustment for each barrel, I got the carb at an auction, Fella I bid against said it was military, off a 6x6 if I remember correct, this is the size carb I need for my tractor, and rather than go buy another carb, why not try to make what you already have work first? Right? The only name on the carb is inside, Alcoa, I checked their website, and no info found.

Might be an aircraft carb. Possibly off a lycoming engine. I work with lots of single barrel carbs, but not too many 2 barrels.

good luck,
