I do not pull tractors but I really enjoy watching them go. This past summer our small town decide to have a pull to go along with our Fall Festival. We built a track out of two foot of hauled in IL clay. We leveled and shaped the track and worked it some. As with all new ventures alot of things were left to the last minute. The night before the pull the Fire Dept watered the track at my request,And you know it we made it too wet. Then the farmer instinct took over, we tried to rip the track open to dry and only loosened it to the point that the sled could not pull itself. we only knew this a few minutes before the pull. With this track unusable we cut a new track on a vacant lot right beside it and started the pull 30 minutes late. The new track got soft and we had to hook a big pullback tractor to the sled. We then managed to tear the front pan off of the sled as it sank in the loose dirt while being pulled back. With help of a welder on a farm service truck the sled was fixed and back in business in 30 minutes. At 4 AM we hooked the last truck at a pull that started at 5PM the night before. The point to all of this is ,we gave the entry fees back to all who could not stay. Out of 160 entries only 9 left. I apologized to all and invited them back next year. I had only one very mad person the rest of these people were super and said they would be back. You pullers are a great bunch of people that really enjoy your sport. Instead of complaining, a lot of them helped us through our troubles. THANKS Jerry

There are always a few who don't understand you are just as upset as they are when something like this happens but it doesen't help anything by getting irate. There are lots of bases to cover in having a pull and things happen. You don't forget those who understood and helped when things got tough.Glad things worked out for you Jerry, keep up the hard work,Jack(TN).
