Can you get a 70 into 5500 pounds???

if so, how did you do it....or how might I do it??

You'd probably have to lose the F1500R cast rears
in favor of pressed steel and lose the roll-a-
matic for a start.

Your going to have to be more specific. Are you talking about a 70 Oliver or a 70 Deere. The one you would have to add weight to, the other you'll have to strip everything possible off.

YOU know I asked a simple question about my weight problems with my JOHN DEERE 70. Yes, I am sorry...i should have been more specific. But there was no need to bring up the conflict below!

Yeah olivers dont need that much help, they need to just be placed in the dead row...why waste time on them. Just Kidding dont get all huffy, as to the actual question, I dont think you could get a 70 in the 5500, might squeeze into the 5600 but it would be really hard. 6000 no problem. Flat back, drop the oil bath some other things...it is a gas right? Good luck

Yes-You can get a "70" JD in 5500 lbs. class. I've seen many in 5500 lbs. with 18.4 x 38 press rims/ two of them had wide fronts! It depends on how much cutting you want to do on the tractor.
If you do not want to modify your tractor to much, then it might be tough to get it in 5500 lbs. It's like anything else, how bad do you want to pull 5500 lbs. class? You can- loss the big raditor,the big gas tank, run a MT or 40 front end,cut the axles and weld on plate hubs, make a seat and bracket,flat back,loss the power steering,cut on the frame,plastic pipes. A extra bolt here, a extra bracket there. It all adds up. There's alot of "G" out now in 4500 lbs. I now of one that can get down to 3750 lbs. !! Anything is possible. Good Luck!

Would you recomend pulling a 70 there?
What perfromance parts are available to really dominated. I am pulling against some wicked oliver 88's. I am willing to spend some $$$, and really work the tractor over a lot. I have seen some 2 cylinder diesl shops...are these what I want. Are there any other ways to beef up a 70.

I WOULD STAY WITH THE G.
GAS OR PROPANE IS THE BEST WAY TO GO.
