Hey guys, just a question of pure curiousity.I am in Illinois and I see some 460's pulling in the really light classes.I know nothing about pulling(just like to watch)but I have a stock 460 with 4 sets of IH weights on it and I use it for skidding logs and other jobs around the place. The engine is always willing but traction is always a problem. How do they get those girls down to those low weights and still get the tires to hook up??One guy said he had a706 engine in his and 460's seem to do real good.I was told that a 460 makes a better puller than a 560.Like I said just curious,Thanks moline

Well,, they get them light,, seems kinda out there, but it can be done. I went the shade tree route, and put a Farmall H rear end and bell housing. Bolted right up. The big pullers are probably using utility rear ends, or using some aluminum parts. I seen one that did not have a front bolster in it at all!! I don't think my 460 is legal to pull on a national circuit, due to the rear end, but it did work,, some are putting in some kind of posi device too, Removing brakes and housings, ETC,, Hope this helps,, ChadS
