W-6 axles on a M

What all do you have to do to put W-6 axles on an M. I have heard it is almost a direct bolt on

Bolts right on the M rear end. Only thing you have to do, is make a set of weld on axle plates, or adapt a set of pressed steel hubs on it. The axles are splined instead of being round with 2 keyways. Never messed with a w-6 but on a W-4, is is good for about 150-200lbs difference between the 2. ChadS

They are a direct bolt on. The only problem is in the seal. The cast wheel hub is where the seal runs. I would think that for weight purposes you wouldnt want to use the cast hub. I have made these parts and worked fine. PS check with your pulling orginizations to see if this mod. is allowed. Hope this helps
