Legal hook point???

I'm thinking of pulling a stock 351 Case in the div 2 at the natpa Inverness pull. Can I bolt a hammerstrap or whatever you would call a piece of metal bolted to the top drawbar to allow pulling by a pull pin on top of the drawbar. That is how I have been pulling it and I'm not sure if it's NATPA legal???

Have you ever pulled NATPA? They are trying to keep pulling safe. Some pullers hitches & wheelie bars are unsafe and dangerous. Have you ever seen a tractor flip over because of hitches and or wheelie bars to weak to hold or support the tractor? NATPA has, and cannot afford accidents of this nature. NATPA rules are also used by many smaller clubs because they are the standard. If safety is not your priority, then please quit pulling.

The hitch or any attachments (braces) CANNOT be attached to tractor ABOVE CENTER of wheel axel.
If you are refering to the top hitch as the third link mounting, this is above the center of the axel. Hope this helps.

I don't normally gripe like this, but that is ridiculous.
This is one rule I'm glad we're not using. How many of you are using something like the stock drawbar. Stock drawbars on most tractors had adjuster that attach above the center plane of the axle. And they don't like you to pull off a hitch bolting to the PTO cover plate either right? May NATPA should start selling a "legal" hitch.
Wait a minute . . . A JD bolts under the rear end. Never mind, I know where it came from now.

It is a picece of 2" square stock 3" long welded to a 3" x 6 1 /2" x 3/4" flatbar with 2 holes in the flatbar. One for the pull pin and one for a hole back 3 7/8" with a hole in the 2" square stock to space it up and allow a hook to pull off of the pull pin on top of the drawbar that I can get to the 18" height. Will this be natpa legal.

As long as the hitch has a 3.0" min hole for the sleed hook. Also if braced the braces cannot attach to the tractor above the center of rear wheel axle. Go to NATPA web site and read rules for classes you plan on pulling in. Hope this helps. PS I have 2 350 cases myself. I pulled one of them for the first time this summer at the local fair. Put 50 ft on second place first time out! Tractor is totaly stock! Other than wheelie bars, weight brackets & clevis. What fun!
