I purchased a 1959 Farmall 460 a few months ago that has been restored by a retired Farmall mechanic. He replaced the bad diesel engine with an engine out of a IH 715 combine, which he said is a 301cc gas. The engine only revs to about 1800. I plan on pulling it in the local small town pull this coming summer. I plan on putting 15.5 x 38 tires on it. I have pulled my 1959 Farmall 560D the last two years at this same local antique tractor pull. Any suggestions for a novice?

If you are just wanting to do a mild hop-up buy a good cam for the motor,Propane johnson intake and have the carb gone through..Myself i wound go ahead and the the dist. reworked and install a msd ignition,its worth the money... I ran this setup for several years prior to building a stroker motor.... Good HP for the money invested.

What you do is go to a few pulls with your camera or video recorder and check out all the similar tractors to yours and get ideas from there like hitch,tires,weight brackets,wheelie bars etc.
