It is as important to help put the power to the ground as it is to build a big CI stroker. On our kits, there is no stress on the spiders, or the ring and pinion. It has an adjustable clutch pack on one side of the tractor, that is fully adjustable,, from alimted slip, to a full posi. The clutch pack is designed to slip,, when you turn sharply, or need to hit a brake to correct the tractor on the track. It has helped the big HP Oliver 88, come off the starting line at a higher rpm, instead of having to "baby" it off to feel if it will stay where the driver wants to go on the track,, It makes for a more consitstant pull right off the line,, Don't shim the spiders if you don't have to,, yes, It does work,, but there is alot of stress on the differntials, and the spiders,, Have repaired alot of oliver differentials that have done this, and have actually spun the spiders so hard,, it welded them to the shafts. Not trying to sound like know it all here,, But just my opinion and thoughts,, ChadS
