I have a John Deere 70 that will be my first pulling tractor. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if there are any hubs made, so I can use steel wheels to get lighter and would they be for 9 bolt or 10 bolt wheels?? If anyone has any hubs and or wheels for sale, within about 150 miles of Fort Wayne In. please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Joe, you can remove your current hubs turn them around backwards from the way you removed them.To bolt up the 9 bolt wheel you can have a plate made with 9 holes to bolt the wheel/hub together. There are many people in my area running this set up. if you have any questions email me at Holtgraver1 @ aol.com

Joe, The 70 has the same size axle shaft diameter as a 720, 730, 3010, 3020, 4010 and 4030. If weight is not an issue there is a factory John Deere hub that will fit your tractor and you will not break them. If you kind find a set with a 3.125 axle diameter they will work. If you find a later set for larger diameter axles you can use the hub wedges from your original cast wheels in the dual hub and have what you need. Good Luck, Dave W.

I ran a set of M&W 9 bolt hubs on my 70. I broke 2 before I decided to just weld on plates to my axles. Im not sure what horsepower you are running or what classes you wanna pull, these will be the deciding factor as to wether you wanna use the after market hubs or make your own axle plates.

Good Luck Tyler
