In the 3500 lbs class, will 16.9x38 GoodYear Dyna TorqueII work. And is this a better combination than a pair of 14.9x38 Armstrong. Thanks for the information!!

Snake eyes, of the two choices, the smaller tires would work the best at that weight class. If you can get the Armstrongs hard enough they would be the better choice than the Goodyears. Mike

Armstrongs are used in several areas with success. In other areas nobody will touch them. But of the two choices, the Armstrongs would be the better choice most anywhere. Of the tires I deal with the Armstrongs are as a rule softer than several other (but not all) brands. Mike

I use a set of long bar short bar armstrong 15.5X38 on 14 in rims,, have had real good luck with them,, un cut,,, they have a taller sidwall than the firstone 15.5X38.. by about 4 inches taller. If anyone has a chance to find a set,, buy themm they are a great tire. Just my 2 cents... CHadS

Just picked up a pair of long bar short bar Armstrong 15.5X38 with about 3/4 inch of bar remaining. They are road worn and sharp. Cannot be cut tires. Not sure if I want to mount them on 12X38 or 14X38 rims for my Super M which I pull in 5500 and 6000 pound antique farm stock with 16 inch drawbar, 14 inches behind the PTO shaft for the hitch point and standard rpm. What do you think I should do?

14 in rim. Would be a good choice,, 12 in would be a bit narrow for a 15.5X38. Give her a few more rpm,, maybe 10% over if your rules let you, Does you club have a 18 or 20 inches high drawbar rule? If so,, raise the carrier up to the next set of holes. May have to run a bit more front end weight,, but will make it pull a little harder with a higher hitch,, ChadS

Club has a 16 inch high drawbar limit. On a Farmall M it is real close to the standard from factory. No rpm margin. Standard rpm only. Super M is 1600 rpm at full throttle. Puts a lot of pressure on proper tires that will hook up. We do not require in the farm class wheelie bars. What do you think of those rules?
