OK Here is the thing. You have seen guys that have restored there tractors to like new, new or better than new condition. Everything is perfect on these tractors. They are very beautiful machines. now you have the guys that build the pullers that paint the tractors funny colors and put the shiney wheels on them, the graphics ect... you get the picture. I collect Farmall H's. I have two so far. One is restored to original, the other I am just getting started on. I would like the tractor to be unique looking. I used to build street cars but have now started building tractors. I still like the street car look but i would like to see what a street rod tractor looks like. I will be using the tractor for parades, tractor rides, pulling a hay rack with people, and just crusin the town. GUYS GIVE ME YOUR HONEST OPPINIONS ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK. my opinion is that street rodded cars were once just a normal car, now they are a beautiful piece of work

I know a guy who took a C International ( I believe it was a C anyway) and flipped the final drives upside down. Then he installed an old truck straight axle up front. It was a real low rider. Looks really cool with the flames on the ood.

My opinion is to leave a nice striaght stock tractor just that. Many of the pullers are built from parts tractors and tractors that were not destined to be restored. In that case I say go crazy and get creative,(like chads tilt up hood). When a tractor becomes a puller it realy starts to loose it's identity anyways, it's a puller.

It does kinda look like a 460,, has stock sheet metal,, just all bolted together on a frame I built on the inside of the hood, I can still bolt the metal back on a stock tractor with out any problems,, I just made the hood all one piece,, and built a hinge on the front connected to the hood frame. Too walk up and look at it,, you can't tell that the hood is all one piece. still looks stock,, , but just like you said,, some pullers are built from tractors that were not destined to be restored as originals,,ChadS

I like your thinking! I got an old ACWD and as I was looking on the internet I saw one painted a little differently so I did mine a little different. You'd be suprised at the second looks and comments I get . Most are favorable. I'll send you a pic.

I seen this post in the IH forum,, and it has got me thinking too, I designed my 460 to have a tilt hood,, Tips up like the old street rods did. I think a polished aluminum hood would be cool. I like a good original paaint scheme too, All of my pullers are original colors and everything in it's place,, ( Decals and such) I seen a COOP in the Hook,, that had a custom grille in it,, looked nice!! Just my 2 cents,, ChadS
