I'de stay with the 28's. Our 8-n has around 40 hp & thats about all the tire it needs. Think about traction in snow. Pulling is the same way. With a narrower tire in the light classes the tire tends to dig in better whereas the wider tire tends to just float. We run 12-28's on our 600 Ford also. We won the 3000# & the 3250# div. 2 classes with this set up at the NATPA pull on fri. at Wauseon Oh. over thanksgiving.
