Has anyone pulled at the Indianhead Tractor Pulls in N.W. Wisconsin? are the pulls good or not? What kind of rules? Weight classes? Thank you.

I usually hit a dozen of so pulls a year in the NW Wis area and I must say this. The Indianhead pulls are very entertaining pulls for the crowd. They usually have a good turnout of spectators and I can see how they would be asked to run pulls in IA and MN. However, They accomplish this by taking a attitude that is nearly a run what you brung and hope you brung enough type of attitude. When 100 horse farmall M's are running in the 5500# stock class and still don't win, something is wrong. Yes there are RPM limits but there are enough other things that aren't limited that things get way out of hand.

The other thing that I have noticed is that because of the lax rules, it seems like every pull is not complete until a big pi$$ing match has erupted somewhere over someone's alleged violation of the rules. I know many good pullers that won't pull IndianHead because they are sick of the Krap.

If you have a truely stock tractor, one that is within the bounds of NATPA Div 2 rules, the Cloverland run pulls in Stanley, Thorp, Fall Creek, Etc. are usually well run affairs. They have had some mechanical sled problems and such in the past but they have gotten most of the bugs worked out of the system.

As far as startins a new association, I would be more than willing to help out with such an undrtaking. However, I do hope that it is an undertaking that is approached with caution. I have a feeling that United we stand, divided we fall. If we break off into to many different associations none of them will be big enough to survive. Another option might be to talk to the guys in Cloverland and see if they would be willing to run pulls farther west. I know I would be willing to help.

Drop me a line, I'm not hiding behind any false names.

Don't waste your time with indianhead, they are the biggest bunch of backstabbing hypocrates there is. If you want to pull in this area of WI, just plan to brush pull, lot less problems, lot more friends, lot more fun. There just may soon be a new, "good" association in the area though, keep your eyes open. If you want more on indianhead, I'll send some more testimony over here for you to read. Have a nice day.

I've pulled there a few times, Hungry Hollow, Roberts, and with that assn over by Stanley. They all seem to have their own share of problems. How hard is it to start up a new assn? Some pulls don't have any rules, just make weight and pull, those aren't much fun either.
