what kind of head do I need for a AC pulling tractor a WD45 one off a e gleener combine?

USE THE 17 HEAD,give barnet taylor a call for a rpm cam, use the 45 gov with the gleaner spring,I just did a light polish port on the head, manifold, and used a 17 carb that MOTEC had redone the carb.

You need the tall head. WD and WC engines have the short heads. They do not flow as well. The tall head from a wd-45, E, or D-17 will work. The wd-45 head has small holes for 3 of the head bolts like the short heads, but a d-17 or E head can go right on. You don't need to do anything to the heads at all if you are not going to run high RPM's or big CID.

Well, If I am not mistaken,, most AC engines are wedge engines,, There is no combustion chamber in the heads, it is in the block, Please correct me if I am wrong,,, If it was me,, I would use the whole combine engine.. should be the same as the d-17. Just my opinion,, chads

I would have but I just got dont rebuilding a wc motor just for the stock class. I used the over bore pistons with a 45 crank. I thought if I go a better head it would have bigger valves? Maby I need a bigger carb? I have no idea?

Puller sounds like your going in the rihgt direction. You might consider regrinding your cam. Or finding a "E" or D17(Ser ?) cam (& oil pump) to have reground. Maybe a "E" govnor. Eddie

If you get another stock head (wd or wd45) you are looking at having it checked out, recondition the valves and seats or replace.

I don't know for a fact but most of those heads look about the same. You might consider the cost of building the head you have before you buy a head that is about the same for little gain.
