The rules clearly state that Im not allowed to use 800hd parts on my tractor so what are my options? I pull 7500# to 9500#. Is there an easy way to work around this rule.My GVI is a propane model.Im used to working on JDs ( no jokes please)so im not real familiar with other makes. I know what HP a JD needs to pull the 9500 but im not sure what im gonna need out off my moline.ANY info would be greatly appreciated Thanks.

Im having some major piston issues with the 70 right now. I cant seem to get a round set if u know what I mean. If you look in the bottem of the piston you can see that its not centered its kind of off set. One side is thinner than the other.

That G you had a while back ran pretty good but the P.B. broke. You should see it run now.

Well they shouldnt have they were pretty heavy bolts if im not mistaken. What all did it mess up? That block had a problem with leaking right in the middle of the two center head bolts so I ran them clear through the entire block so it wouldnt pull on the front of the block. It worked for almost 10 years that way.Does it still have the crank i put in it or did that one expire?

Everything is still the same but the block and pistons are new. The P.B. broke when pulling the sleeves out. The machine shop was scrambling to tell what happened. But it runs like a rapped ape now still pulling it and bulit another one just like it. Been pulling natpa now and then with it.

What about just using a non HD 800? If not just get a set of aftermarket blocks with the 5 3/4" bore.

I dont know about the hp. I do know they can be made extremely big with some large dollars. I also was told there was a significant weight savings using the 605. Maybe someone else can give you more info. Shipmans big Massey is running a 605. Awsome tractor. H.H.

I belive a 605 was about 120 h.p. at some low RPM. Not sure though. You can crank some big power out of one. Another option is using a 605 crank and boring M5-type 4-5/8 blocks. They will bore to 4-3/4 + .060 and with the 6" 605 crank, your motor will look the same. There are pistons available just for that application although more commonly found on the 4cyl motors.
