First I would like to thank all of you who have patiently tried to answer my questions as this is all new to me. It sounds like I can use a power block in my JD 70, my question now is, are their 2 different power blocks, I've heard of a 6-1/2 and a 7" sold by TSC. I have emailed several tractor places about the power block and as yet have not received any responses. Are there only used ones or can you purchase new ones, as it looks like TSC no longer sells them. Any information is appreciated.
Thanks Dan

Dan-You must think power blocks grow on trees. If you are lucky enough to ever find one, you are probably going to have to put another mortgage on your house to pay for it. If you are just trying to boost some power and not get nuts, you ought to consider a half to a three quarter inch stroke and keep your stock pistons and block. I will guarantee you, you'll blow any body off with a stock stroke and a power block, off into the weeds.

Ok, you convinced me. Now,you say I can use my stock block and pistons but do I get a different crank or do I have mine off set ground and what rods would I use for this combination? What is the most stroke I can go without getting into major clearencing, 1/2", 3/4", 1", or more?
Thanks again Dan

1.25" should not be too hard with A rods I run this in a G. some cam and main case clearance work not too bad You might also consider an all fuel block 6.125"(vs 5.875" gas) block then bore .125 with G piston. I have one all fuel block if interested.Paul

I suggest you either call TNT machine shop in Polo, MO or Keith Merfield. I think with 1/2 or 3/4 inches of stroke, you should be able to use your stock rods with very little clearancing. You can find TNT's number in the Hook magazine.
