Is there any market for built pulling tractors? I was wondering if you can get a decent price out of one after spending hours of work and lots of money? You see a few for sale on the ad section, but do not usually know if they sell or how much they bring. Has anyone bought (or sold) a tractor ready to pull, or is it a bad idea. Thanks for advice.

IT'S BEEN MY OBSERVATION THAT YOU CAN BUY A GOOD PULLING TRACTOR AT LESS COST THAN BUILDING IT .PROVIDED YOU KNOW THE TRACTOR AND THE SELLER WILL LET YOU PULL IT A COUPLE OF TIMES UNDER HIS WATCHFUL EYE AND IF HE WON'T , LET HIM KEEP IT. BUT MOST OF THE TIME THE SELLER WILL IF HE'S A HONEST PERSON. AS THE OTHER POST STATED HALF THE FUN IN PULLING IS BUILDING YOUR ON STUFF TO WHAT EVER STAGE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH EVEN IF IT'S ONLY THE PAINT JOB

Half or the fun is building it yourself.

From what I have seen you about have to prove your tractor at the track then sell it. A winning tractor is worth much more then a 3rd or 4th place tractor. Buying a Built pulling tractor could be buying anothers problems if it has been bored and stroked.
