I'm still fuming about the meeting... It took forever to get anything decided... General rule changes... Somehow the line "No Radial Tires" was left out of some of the Divisions.. so it was added to the General rules... The tires sizes was changed to match the weight classes.. (should have been changed when we started 4 yrs ago..) It was changed so 0-3600 is one tire size instead or 0-3500... and so on for the tire chart..
Div II Voted to keep the 1 or 2nd gear rule, instead changing to a MPH limit... Tires can be shaved... back of the lug can be cut down.. but the front (vertical) cannot be touched.. These tires will NOT be allowed for Div I tractors.. Div III Voted to change to a MPH limit.. but an 8MPH limit was voted in!!!???? So basically the tractors that have been stomping.. will be killing everyone now... Not that we have more than a handfull of tractors that can go that fast anyways.. and on a good track???? I guess no one understands that the speed limit is supposed to make the tractors more equal... Div IV.... Not sure we need it anymore... only 2-3 tractors can break the Div III speed limit..

The fuel issue wasn't even mentioned.. it is already a rule... we just don't have the equipment to check it.. yet.. But main thing that the rule wants to keep out is Alcky... The complaint during the season was about someone using AV gas.. which is only 100 Low Lead.. Lots of others using 108, 110, and 116.. All are legal..

No accident in Abilene.. but could have been... At the meeting the Sled operator said that it was his fault for what almost happened.. letting the V8 tractor pull when the sled was set to light.. and about caused a wreck... but this as been seen before.. and probably again... and really is nothing to do with the sled operator... (but I'm not going to get into that...

Like Red said.. the V8 class is on hold until we find out more about our insurance...

A Venting... JDGnut

Hey, I didnt get to make it to the meeting but dad did and he said that nothing major happened. V8 class was put on hold, probably after the incident in Abilene, there were speed limits adopted for each division but they are high enough that nobody will have a problem with them and then tire sizes were adjusted to match our weight breaks, 3100, 3600 and so on. Other than that nothing else went on. Jdgnut might know exact details if he was there.

I guess what upsets me is that we adopted the national rules so we wouldn't be fighting some of these basic things.. and we spend hours trying to reinvent the wheel.... and change everything... but Oh well... Can't please them all.... just have to join in.. and beat them at their game... JDGnut

I dont want to p@#s anyone off, but this is the exact reason why I dont pull with the big clubs.I have 13-14 pulls a year with our club. Then I go to some brush pulls and have a little fun as well. I KNOW what the rules are gonna be every year . Because they dont change.8 mph in div 3 I guess the OHIO guys will be dusting off there olivers.

Lol.. well Tyler... We thought the same thing.. we are the little group.. about 12-14 pulls throughout the year.. Problem is there is not really anywhere else to go... without driving forever.. We don't really gave the caliber of tractors that are in the north... We'll just suck it up and pull on... It does bother me when someone complains about the rules and does nuthing about it... I am a founding member and am on the Tech comittee... Just venting here... JDGnut
(but it sure is fun to go pull somewhere else.. and just pull... )
