CONSIDERING BUYING A 16/8 TILT 9000# TRAILER TO HAUL SMTA OR 706.DO NOT SEE A LOT OF TILT BACK TRAILERS AT PULLS MY THOUGHT IS THAT IF ITS RAINING DURING LOADING THE TRACTOR WOULD NOT CLIMB THE WOOD DECK. ANYONE OUT THERE USE TILT TRAILERS??? PAUL

The of my trailer tilts, but I was just thinking, ramps are safer how? I have had just as many close calls with a wet beavertail and wet ramps as I have with a tilt trailer or tilt tail trailer. None of them are really "safe" to load when wet.

A buddy of mine has a tilt bed trailer with tandem duals and pintle hitch he just rebuilt. It sure looked nice with the nice painted boards on it! He went to load his 9n one mourning with a wet bed and couldn't get the tractor up the trailer. He then went and bought a 7000 lb car trailer to haul his Ford and I bought his tilt trailer. Got one heck of a deal. Took it home and welded expanded metal over wood. I haven't had any troble since.

If I were YOU I would stay away from tilt beds I have watched, while holding my breath, as a puller I pull with would load his tractor,I was ready to watch in horror as his tractor would slid the wheels all the way down the deck because of some early morning dew,I told him that one of these times it will slide to one side and roll off the trailer and then were are you going to be?,He got to thinking about it and said that yes there were to many close calls and he knows he is pushing his luck,,so he got rid of it,,,do what you want but look at someone that is using one and see for yourself just how stupid a tilt bed is when it comes to using one for your pulling tractor,,,just my .00001 cents
