SM I noticed you said a 560 or 806 bottom bolts on. Any power differances between the 2? I have the super kit in, elec. ign., hot coil, tube manifold, dry air filter. Stock carb just doesn't cut it anymore. Any places to try if my locals don't have any.

I swung past the dealer to day and the venturi for any of the models in unavaliable. Even the dealer locator couldn't find anything. SOB! I'll see if I can find one some where or bore out the one I have.

The last 3 of them I got from them, most have been old stock they had on the shelves. Better go see if they have anymore then.

Well now that I know that the venturi can be swapped I'd be better off just doing that. Now how would the jet drilling be done with out screwing something up. I didn't know there wasn't that much differance and I am only running stock rpm's no need for me to be extreme. I hear once in awhile people buying or rebuilding carbs modified spending big bucks and I would hate to do that. On mine a barn fell on it so that's why I went w/ the dry air filter, manifold cracked so I went with tubes, needed a overhaul bad and everyone usually puts the super in anyways, ign system was crap I went with elec. so I don't have to screw around with points.

Calculate air flow in CFM for stock displacement and stock RPM's. Calculate CFM for larger displacement and modified RPM's. The area (square inches) of the venturi should be increased by the same percentage as the increased air flow. Jet size should be increased also to have the adjustable range within the capacity of the air flow. Go in small increments. A carburater will only function properly when there is an increased air velocity across the venturi rsulting in a vaccum (pressure differential)which sucks the fuel thrugh the jets. Metering circuits can be tricky without a flowbench for testing which is why the carb shops get the big bucks. But it can be done. Maintain a smooth bore in the venturi as turbulance results in poor fuel metering which hurts engine performance. Hey SMpuller, see you on the other forum (grins) Ray

There is no real difference in the bottoms themselfs. Just drill your jets out and increase your venteri (spelling) out till you get peak performance. Dads been a Farmall mechanic for over thirty years, we have tried them all. Don't get suckered in to the "Big Carbs". I'm running a stock M carb on my M that has been worked over a little. It has big cubes and it seems to run good. Don't get me wrong there are some fine people that I am sure will argue with the point I have made, but just think about what you are trying to achieve. You are basically going to be running stock rpms, the motor is only going to suck so much air and fuel. Don't over carb it or you'll beheading backwards. My 2 cents.

I run bottom of 560 carb it has bigger main jet and venturi and bigger bore, bigger bore means more fuel and more air.Donnie is right you can drill out a main jet and venturi on a stock carb, be careful on venturi go one size on middle hole if I remember right.

On venturi, It looks like hour glass shape, in the middle increase size, hopes this makes it clearer. They can be very difficult to get just right thats why its easier to bolt up 560 806 or W9 bottom.

Hey SuperM Explain bigger bore. The venturi's will swap out from a Super H carb to a 806 carb. Is this not where the fuel and air come thru? I now that it travels thru the venturi to the intake. So what bigger bore are you talking about? Maybe we have missed something on ours. I thought there was one way in and one way out.

Thats why I said to bore it out in the first post. They will interchange from on carb to the other with out changing the bottom. I understand what your saying. I just get tired of people tring to burn someone with this carb crap about a 560,706,806,856 carb being better. They will work the same if you bore the venturi and drill the jet. I'm not saying you where by any chance, the gentleman asked you for advice. I just thought I would throw my 2 cents in. I've seen and heard of some of the "special" carb sales pitchs and I just shake my head. If you want a 806 venturi just go and buy it at your local CaseIH dealer. Don't waste your money on buying an over priced bottom for a carb you don't need.
I'm not trying to berate you or run you down. I'm just trying to save people a little bit of money. I wished someone would have done this for me on some other "Overpriced, non performing parts" Thanks for the time you have put in to this conversation with me SuperMpuller. Hope I did'nt offend you, that was not my intention.

You didn't offend me at all , and I wouldn't buy dog food at Denny's,but its really hard to bore out a venturi and keep it smooth. Ray explained it very well, its nice to see he gets out of his cave now and then, and help out.
